MAJOR TOOL DEVELOPMENTS

 

  • Development of specialized pressure release valve for large scale hydraulic fracturing straddle packers (2020).
  • Development of a new stress monitoring cell, denominated Borre Mon, which involves a low cost installation methodology (2020-2021).
  • Upgrading the LTU electrical imaging tool to include digital data transfer in long geophysical cables (2020).
  • Development of a scientific, ultra-deep measurement system for hydraulic rock stress measurements, denominated the LTU Stress Trailer. A wire-line activated system using in-house developed straddle packers for NQ, HQ, and PQ-sized boreholes capable of testing down to 3 km depth using real-time electrical imaging (2014-2018).
  • Development of a wire-line activated packer system based on depth correlation using gamma ray (2014).
  • Development of stress monitoring system based on CSIRO HID overcoring cells (2013).
  • Development of a conventional B116 overcoring testing equipment based on the Borre III cell (2013).
  • Development of a miniature wire-line hydraulic testing system with depth capacity 150 m (2012).
